Boarding shy cats and first-time boarders
A new place can feel big to a cat. Here’s how we help shy cats settle, and what to expect in their first few days.
- Built-in hideouts
- Daily updates
- Book a viewing first
Somewhere to feel safe
- Rooms are built for cats to move up as well as across, with perches, shelves and somewhere to tuck themselves away.
- Every Felis Cabin has a built-in hideout.
- 30 minutes of one-to-one time with a caretaker every day.
- Daily photo updates, so you can see how they’re settling in.
What to bring
- Their favourite toy.
- Their usual food, enough to cover the whole stay.
- A small amount of their usual litter, to help them get used to ours.
See the full preparation checklist.
What to expect while they settle in
A new place, a different routine, or missing their humans can all cause stress, and every cat reacts in their own way. In the first few days you may notice:
- Hiding
- Lack of appetite
- Mild flu
- Soft stools
- Urinary issues
Please tell us about any behavioural concerns in your cat’s profile in the members portal.
